why do we keep the plant dark for 72 hours before performing activity to show that chlorophyll is necessary for photosynthesis

lalitha65: this method is basically called the destarching method so that the starch formed for the production or to for the photosynthesis is removed out testing an experiment. hope the ans is right and pls mark me as the brainliest

We do this to remove all the starch that is formed previously due to photosynthesis.Whn such plant is used for tests,the results of photosynthesis will be measured based on the amount of starch produced.Thus it is necessary to remove starch before such experiments.
