Earthen pots are made of mud and clay which are bad conductors of heat which reduces the process water from getting hot

earthen pots have tiny holes on it due to which water from inside of the pot keeps seeping out . Because pf this the water droplets collect outside the pot and get evaporated. for evaporating the the water droplets take heat from the inside temperature of the pot. As the heat is taken from inside of the pot the inside temperature gets cooled down. And this leads to keep the water cool inside the earthen pitcher or earthen pot and this is the reason for which we keep water in earthen pots in summers.
