have experienced this several times in E. coli DH5a transformation. Some people might disagree with me, but I don't see any problem in it. The only thing is that the cells might have grown so much during the recovery and when you plate them and observe them the next 12-18 h, your plate might be overcrowded with colonies and it might be more difficult to select colonies because cells already doubled or even tripled within those period. But if you are wondering if there is a substantial effect on the incorporation of your DNA to the E. coli transformants, I don't think so.
