why do we need a democratic right? If our is already independent?

Constitution of India has provided democratic rights to citizens of India . In order to make the citizens feel that they have freedom and independence .

India as a independent country and with democratic former of government, there is no guarantee that the government may not violet the rules . So to limit the power , citizens are provided with democratic rights even if our country is independent

right are necessary for the sustenance of a democracy. in a democracy every citizen has to have right to choose their own government and also be elected.To gain respect ,freedom and rights mention in constitution we need democracy.
