why do we need a standard Meridian for India what is it importants

raghav6087: as there is a time lag of 2 hrs in india from going west to east or east to west.So, to avoid the time lag and to make time constant

standard meridian is important because it gives the same time to india

Standard meridian of India( 82 1/2 degree east). Passes through Mirzapur in UP. It's important that time at this meridian is taken as standard time (IST) for whole India for uniformity.
