Living things need oxygen to survive because we can't survive without oxygen. It is vital that living things respire to get the oxygen for living cells to function. Without air, there is no life. Plants use Carbon Dioxide (together with sunlight and water) to produce energy and give out Oxygen as a by-product.

\underline\bold\red{❥Explanation :-}

➡ We don’t need “air;” we need the oxygen that is in the air. The rest of the air is “filler;” gases that take up space, if you will. We do not process the nitrogen, for instance, that makes up as much as 80% of the air we breathe.

➡ It just goes into our lungs and pretty much

right back out—unchanged. The atmosphere is “about” (it differed from place to place andnwith altitude) 20% oxygen. Our bodies are set up such that we need the air to contain at least 10% oxygen or we will not be able to extract enough oxygen from the air to live.

➡ Most people would die if the oxygen level were dropped to a little less than 10%. Most people have some difficulty breathing properly when the oxygen level drops much below around 12–14%. At 16–21%, we all seem to do OK.

Answer:

  • All living things need oxygen (air) to survive. When breathing, all  living things take in oxygen from the air and give off carbon dioxide. It is vital that all living things breathe oxygen in order for living cells to function properly.
  • Air contains, among other things, oxygen, which is an isolated element in air. Humans can survive for days without food.We can survive for several days without water, but we cannot survive without air  for more than about minutes.
  • That is why air is the most important thing in life.The Earth is surrounded by air, a mixture of vital gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen. These gases provide the animals with oxygen for respiration.
  • It also provides green plants with carbon dioxide for photosynthesis to take place.Breathing is vital for living beings to obtain oxygen for living cells to function. Without air there is no life.
