Why do we need classify the elements?

With rapid advance in science, the number of discovered element increased it is difficult to study and remember the behavior and properties of each and every element and also how they form the compounds hence attempts have been made to classify these elements in to groups of elements having similar characteristics.

Presently, we have 118 known elements. This is a huge number in terms individual study & memorization of the properties. So, we classify elements to make their study easier and reduce the chaos.

All the elements which have similar properties are grouped together in a tabular form i.e. periodic table.
