Why do we need constitution

We need a constitution to govern the country, it's government, it's people. The constitution is simply made for the better ment of the people or its citizen. It contains various checks and rules which ensures equality and unity in the country. It even makes sure that the right of minorities are not violated. It gives promotion to various backward classes. There are power limits for each level of government fixed by the constitution.
