Hey mate!
Here's the answer to your question...
--------------------------------------------------------
All animals are composed of complex structures made up of four macro molecules as well as other elements and minerals. Plants (also made of the same constituents) are at the base of the foodchain, producing energy from sunlight, co2, and water. Plants require many minerals and molecules to function properly. When we eat food, many of the large molecules and proteins are broken down into out GI tract to facilitate absorbsion. Plants are similar in that they cannot absorb large molecules and need a way to break them down. As plants dont have many of the complex mechanisms animals have, decomposers help with the catabolic task. Without decomposers plants would be unable to synthesize energy to survive, which would lead to the progressive extinction of complex organisms. Complex organisms build many complex molecules that aid in the execution of various functions. Simpler organisms like detrivores break these molecules down to survive, and plants utilize these constituents for energy and structure. Every single living creature has its place and purpose in life.
