why do we need elections in a democracy

We need elections in democracy because :-

1) to remove the biasness from the society.

2) we need a person who can take good decision for us.

3) we need a leader who gives equity to all.

4) Periodic election will incentivice the people as well as the leaders.

5) If elections are held periodically, the heads of the government will keep themselves abreast of the development or deterioration of the economy.

6) Corrective action can be taken. In an autocratic rule, there is no scope for critisism or dissent. Hence the actual situation will not be known by the ruler.
