Food security a state of affairs where all people all times have access to safe and nutritious food for maintaining healthy and active life.  

Getting this two conditions is needed: safe, nutritious, and quantitatively and qualitatively plenty food must be provided.  

Rich and poor, male and female, old and young all shall access to it.

Inside countries food-insecure poor are found in various subgroups which are differentiated by location, occupational patterns, asset ownership, race, ethnicity, age and gender.  

Most poor and food-insecure lives in rural areas.  

Some are landless or unable to create food-secure livelihoods on land available.

Urban household food security is normally issue of low wage rates and low levels of employment.  

Food deficiency and malnutrition tends to be prevalent in urban areas.  

They becomes increasingly important problems in future as rate of urbanization increases.
