Why do we need parliament explain in 5 short points?

We need parliament to perform the following main functions : 

* To act as the final authority for making laws in any country 
* To exercise some control over those who run the government.
 * To control all the money that governments have. 
* To be the highest forum of discussion and debate on public issues and national policy
*To abolish existing laws and to keep a check upon the ruling govt.
