An Equation means that the LHS = RHS. So, if one side is unequal to the other, it won't be an equation, it will be an inequality.

you must know that the law of conservation of mass .it is what states that a mass can neither created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction.in order to this law,we must balance the chemical equation so that both the sides (the reactants and the products) must have same number of atoms for each chemical so that the law is verified.
