✔Minerals and the environment. Minerals are non–renewable natural resources that are vital for the construction, manufacturing and energy industries.

Also

it is important that the natural environment is protected from damage that may be caused by mineral extraction.

•Use of minerals in a planned and sustainable manner.

•Recycling of metals.

•Use of alternative renewable substitutes.

•Technology should be improved to use the low grade ores profitably.

It takes millions of years for the formation of minerals. Compared to the present rate of consumption, the replenishment rate of minerals is very slow. Hence, mineral resources are finite and non-renewable. Due to this, it is important that we conserve themineral resources.
