Why do we need to respect others customs and traditions
Answers
When you show respect to other cultures and religions, you’re not respecting a concept. That particular culture or religion doesn’t care if you respect it or not. An abstract concept does not have feelings, it is incapable of appreciating respect or taking offense.
Do you know what have feelings?
People. People have feelings. People care.
When you show respect to other cultures and religions, you’re showing respect to people who belong to that culture, people who practice that religion, people who see their cultural heritage and religious belief as part of their identity. By disrespecting their culture and religion, you’re disrespecting these people.
It is important to respect other cultures and religions because PEOPLE of that culture, PEOPLE of that religion, they deserve basic respect you would want for yourself.
You don’t respect people because of their culture and religion. You respect a certain culture or religion because you respect the people who practice it.
It’s about the people.

This is the reason that the term "melting pot" fits our country, as different cultures have contributed distinct flavors.
