why do we need to separate subtances?
Answers
Answer:
When two or more substances are mixed together they form a mixture. Components of a mixture should be separated because some components may not be useful or may spoil the useful component of the mixture.
We need to separate the substances for various reasons like:
- To remove the undesirable and harmful components.
☛ For example – Small pieces of stones and unwanted seed grains are removed from rice and pulses before cooking.
- To remove the impurities as to obtain pure sample of a substance.
☛ For example – Impurities are removed from substances to make them pure as many pure substances are needed in medicines, research and so on.
- To separate useful components of a mixture so that each component can be properly used.
☛ For example – From the crude petroleum , useful components that are needed in our daily life like petrol, diesel, kerosene and many more are separated.
