why do we needa standerd meridian for india?

we need standard meridian because India is a big country and without standard meridian the different places would have different time. and the time in a country should be same.

We need a standard meridian for India-because India is a vast country and it cannot have different local times.A local time is strictly based on time difference between Greenwich and that particular longitude.So 82.5 longitude is taken as the standard time.
