why do we not categorise metal oxide as salts.while we categorise metal sulphate as salt?​

metal sulphate can be formed by completely replacing hydrogen ions of hydrogen sulphate by cations therefore they are categories as salt metal oxides are bases they cannot be formed by replacing hydrogen ions of an acid therefore they are not categorise as salts
