Why do we not consider rate of the change of acceleration in the study of linear motion

Acceleration is an useful component to connect the force exerted on the system and the velocity of the system, as suggested by Newton's laws of motion. So calculating time derivative of acceleration is not only not useful in forming equation of motion, but also of little physical meaning.
