echo takes place where there is minimum 17 to 22 metre of plain area i.e there no obstracle between the reflector and the source od sound

Hello friend
-----------------

Let's understand that what is meant by an echo

An echo is the repetition of the original sound because of the reflection by some surface.

At 22°C the velocity of the sound in air is approximately 344m/s.And our brains retains a sound for 0.1 s

Thus for us to be able to hear a distinct echo, the sound should take more than 0.1 s after starting from the source to get reflected and come back to us.

For distinct echoes the minimum distance of the reflected surface from the source of sound must be 17.2 m.

And the materials like furniture, chair, clothes, are known as the sound absorbing material which absorb the waves of sound and prevent to produce an echo.

And in our surroundings areas there are a lot of things,a lot of materials, substances, object we can see easily found and this all things absorb the sound and prevent to produce an echo.

That's why we can see when we went at different places where only hills and mountains found or in a plane place there we can heard an echo is just because there are not materials such that in our surroundings that's why we heard an echo in a plane and opened place.

And this is the reason behind in our surroundings to not produce an echo.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks.
