As the name suggests( supersonic) their speed has a unit called MACH . Mach is speed of sound in air. Therefore if you ever hear the word MACH 2, it means the speed of the object is 2×sped of sound in air. This gives rose to a phenomenon called sonic boom. the object breaks past it's own sound waves and thus we hear the sound after the jet goes away. This very harmful to health. hope you are able to get it
