in a bar magnet magnetic field lines arise from north pole and moves towards south pole by making a parabolic path

and even if you break a bar magnet into two pieces then the two pieces will not act as a North Pole and South Pole separately but will be come to smaller magnets

the point of cracking will become either north pole and South Pole and then again the process will continue which is common for big magnet and small bar magnet
