Why do we prefer a coiled wire instead of a straight wire in an electromagnet​

Each loop of wire is like a little magnet that has its own magnetic field , all loops together produce a strong magnetic field but a straight wire do not produce more magnetic field compare to coil of a wire that's why a coil of a wire used in an electromagnet instead of a straight wire.

A coil of a wire is used in an Electromagnet instead of just a straight wire because coil has many number of loops of wire and each loop of wire behave as a magnet. ... When an electric current flows through the coil , it creates a magnetic field. This produces temporary magnetism in the iron core.
