Why do we prefer a convex mirror as a rear-view mirror in vehicles?

We prefer convex mirror because in convex mirror the objects which are far away ...Seems to be closer ...Thus to prevent Road Accidents.....

The Convex mirrors are commonly used to rear-view and the vehicles because they give the full size diminished image of distant objects and wider field of view as well as much larger area than would be possible with a plane mirror.

The mirror was described as a portion and sphere is silvered such that it can reflect light that the original sphere is known as the center of curvature.
