Why do we prefer silk clothes over cotten clothes in winter

We prefer silk clothes in winter instead of cotton clothes because cotton clothes are breathable, where air can pass easily we therefore can get cold.But silk clothes keep us warm ,it regulates body temperature. it also keeps us dry and comfortable during winter.
