ANS :- We require grid for transmission of electricity because electricity grid allows a power system to use a diversity of resources , even if they are located far away from where the power is needed .

For example :- wind turbines must be built where the wind is the strongest ; the grid allows for this electricity to be transmitted to distant cities .....
