Force = Mass * Displacement.
so if displacement is constant then Force varies directly with Mass. So for moving a heavy object for a particular distance more force is required than moving a non heavy object for same distance .

We require to apply more force to move a heavy object from its rest position because:-
1. As the mass is more gravitational pull will be more so it requires more force.
2.According to first law of motion the more the mass is the more the inertia is required to make the change in state of object.
