India is a secular state because it doesn't promote any one religion as country's religion rather it gives equal respect to all religions, customs and beliefs of the people.

Our country India works on the principle that all the people in the country are equal in front of the law. The people will be given equal rights and none will be discriminated by the name of the religion. The secular state means that country will not promote any religion.
