Why do we say that a drill, used by a carpenter for drilling a hole in the wood, has both rotatory and translatory motion?

Explanation:

The drill rotates along its fixed axis so its an example of rotatory motion but it also moves ahead i.e. it moves through the wood creating a hole, therefore, it is also in translatory motion.
