The energy flow in biosphere is unidirectional it means that energy flows in one direction only from producer to consumer and does not return back to the producer. In the Biosphere, the energy is obtained by green plants by photosynthesis . ... so the energy stored in plants gets transferred to consumer animals.

the energy is mainly got by the sun in the form of heat
this energy is used by the plants to make food for themselves by photosynthesis
this food is transfered from one tropic level to another
finally it is used by the bacteria
after the bacteria use it, it goes back to the plants in the form of organic matter
this energy does not go back to the sun.
THEREFORE IT IS SAID THAT ENERGY FLOW IN THE BIOSPHERE IS UNIDIRECTIONAL.
