Photosynthesis is an endothermic reaction because in order for it to occur, the plants in which it occurs must absorb energy. They absorb this energy in the form of sunlight, producing glucose and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water. The energy which has been absorbed then remains in the glucose molecules.
