Answer:

The water at the ocean surface is moved primarily by winds that blow in certain patterns because of the Earth's spin and the Coriolis Effect. Winds are able to move the top 400 meters of the ocean creating surface ocean currents. Surface ocean currents form large circular patterns called gyres.

Circular red currents in hot water can be seen after adding red coloured ice cube because of the phenomenon of total internal reflection.

Explanation:

  • The total internal reflection takes place because the light is passing from a medium having high refractive index that is water to Air which has a lesser refractive index.
  • As a result of this there is reflection of light and to the viewers  the light appears after several total internal reflection due to higer angle of incidence which gives us the feeling that there are circular red currents in the water.
