Because moon dosent have it's own light. When the sunrays falls on one part of it it seems to us that it is only half..when it rotates we see the next part clearly event though it is always there but hidden in the darkness

Answer:

We can only see one side of moon always because of the revolution of moon around the earth. It would take 28 1/2 days to complete one revolution and also in one side of the moon only the light rays from sun would fall down and when it is reflected to earth's surface we would able to see the moon. So the other part where sunlight didn't fall down is thus invisible for the people who are looking at moon from the earth.
