Shooting stars are not actually stars, they are actually meteors. Meteors are those rocks which form when asteroids collide to break up in to fragments these fragments when Enter in the Earth's atmosphere, due to gravity their speed increases heavily, and they start burning due to air friction.
These look like that the star is falling on the ground so, we call them shooting star.
