When rotated, appears white. Newton's Color Disk is mounted on a motor shaft. When the motor is turned on, the disk rotates rapidly. The segments of color on the disc are apportioned so that, when the disc is rotating, an approximate white is formed by the mixing of the colors. We see white color in Newton's disc because of the fact that white light is made up of 7 rainbow colors. And, a Newton disc has of different colors. As we rotate ours see the light coming from those colors as combined and it appears white.
