We sleep at night because not only our body but also our brain needs rest after working through out the day.
We all sleep at night because it is the nature of our body and mind. If our eyes sense light our brain thinks that it is daytime and we should work but when it becomes night and no light is sensed by our eyes, the brain thinks that it is the time to take rest.
I hope that my answer is correct.

The main scientific reason which says that why we sleep at night :
1. We get tired by whole day work, so our body wants rest in the form of sleep.
2. We know that there is pineal gland in our body, which is responsible for secretion of melatonin hormone which regulates the sleep cycle.
This is produced in night at steady rate. So, we sleep well at night.
