why do we sprinkle water on the roof or open ground in summwr?

We do it cuz evapouration causes a cooling effect thus it keeps the roof cool after the water evapourates

we sprinkle water on the roof and open ground because in summers the grounds and roof get very hot due to sunlight and if we walk on it. it burns our feet so we sprinkle water to minimise or reduce the temperature of that ground and roofs
