Why do we treat the person with cold water sponges, who is suffering from the high fever?

When the fever exceeds 102 F, it becomes crucial to control it and avoid any further increase as it may lead to seizures.

By using the cold sponge method, the temperature of the body comes down to a large extentthus providing comfort to the patient.

⭕ We treat the person with cold water sponges in high fever because when the body's temperature is more than 102° F then the with the help of cold water sponges from outside of body works as the insulation of temperature as a result in the decrease of inner temperature. this process is done in order to prevent the temperature to reach human's brain and also to prevent death because high temperature is very harmful.
