AVERAGES are a single value which summarises the characteristic of the data.
Limitations:
- Since different countries have different population thus total income doesn't tell us what an average person is likely to earn in that case we use averages.
- AVERAGES are sometimes influenced by extreme values.
- They don't give us idea about individual level or standard of living
