Averages are used to compare large numbers and different quantities of the same category. When we have to compute per capita of a country, we use averages because of the differences in the income of diverse people. Whereas when we compare the average per capita income of two countries, the figure would be misleading due to the same reason. A country with a higher per capita average may mean it is richer than the other country but it would be wrong to assume its people are all rich!
Thus, averages have their limitations. They do not give us the true picture of the distribution of income. They also do not reflect any light on the non-materialistic goods and services.
We can conclude by saying averages are useful for comparison but they hide disparities.

We use the average for comparison between two countries
Explanation:-
- We use the average for comparison between two countries, two persons, or any two or more things.
- The use of average has the following Limitations
- Averages do not tell us about the similarities or differences between two countries or persons or things.
- Average can be compared to only one aspect in case of a country, income, size, etc., marks in case of student or participation in sports activities, etc. Not all aspects or achievements are compared.
- As only one aspect is compared, it does not give a true picture of different countries, persons, or things.
