Why do we use averages? Plz answer fast -1 mark

We use averages to compare country because if we consider total income of a country then country with huge population has more income as compared to less populated country.. So to know the real per capita income of a country we use averages..... i.e..

Average income of a country = total income of a country / total population of that country..
