why do we use copper and aluminium wire for transmission of electric current ? why not iron?

We do use Al and copper wires but not of iron because aluminium and copper conduct electricity more efficiently than iron.

copper and alluminium are good conductors of electricity because of it's low resistance and iron offers high resistance and it is not abundant in nature
