why do we use galvano meter instead of ammeter in potentiometer?

Hey there !

The deflection of the coil is directly proportional to the current flow through it. The galvanometer isconverted into the ammeter by connecting the resistance in parallel with the circuit. And if the resistance isconnected in series with agalvanometer, then it is used as a voltmeter.

Because ammemeters' needle moves in only large current.
while in galvanometers' needle start fluctuating in small amount of current.
