Why do we use narrow leaf to perform mohals half leaf experiment

KOH is used in the experiment to show the importance of carbon di-oxide in the process of photosynthesis. This experiment is very important in terms of understanding the concepts. Two leaves are kept and the one in KOH solution does not change to blue black due to the absence of carbon di-oxide.
