we use averages for better understanding.for comaring countries total income is not useful method as different countries have different polulation.Averages help us to know how much each person is likely to earn in a country.
LIMITATION
It does not show how resources are actually distributed among all the people of country.
FOR EG
A student getting 80%marms does not show the distribution of mark in each subject.
