why do we wear more layer of clothes than wearing just one thick piece of cloth?

because it will not be able to protect us from cold and no air will enter in it

we wear more layer of clothes than wearing just one thick piece of cloth because if we more layers of cloth than no air will enter through it and if we wear only one piece of thick cloth then the air will enter through the pore of cloth whereas wearing more layers of cloth will trap air between them.

I think it should be in winter right...
