Why do you apply more force in moving a cycle which is punctured?

1. When air is present in the wheel, it provides sufficient air pressure which ensure the grip on the road.
2.when wheel is punctured, that grip on the road is lost and we can see the static friction because the wheel is at rest in contact with road.
3. Static Friction increases because the interlocking's   are more.
4. To convert  static friction to sliding friction we need to apply more force .
static friction > sliding friction.

Hence we apply more force in moving a cycle which is punctured
