why do you fall in the forward direction when a moving bus brakes to a stop and fall backwards when it accelerates from rest???

This happens because of our inertia. Inertia is that property due to which a body tends to remain in motion if its in motion or tends to be at rest if it is at rest.

When the bus is moving we our in motion. When brakes, are applied then our body tends to remain in motion and moves forward.

When the bus is started then our body is at rest and due to Inertia it tends to be at rest and due to this we fall backwards.

Answer:

Explanation:

The passengers possess inertia of motion in a moving bus. As the bus stops, there lower body which is in contact with the bus stops while upper part tends to keep moving as they fall forward. Similarly, in a stationary bus they have inertia of rest. As the bus starts their lower body moves but the upper body tends to be at rest and they fall backward.
