Answer:

I enjoy working with children because they represent hope and the future to me.

Working with children is a great opportunity to be of service to one's community. The child is better for it. Parents enjoy peace of mind knowing that their children are well cared for in their absence.

I LOVED watching children grow up. I worked in the same school district 13.5 years at the same job. I literally knew some children their whole academic life with the public schools. This brought me so much joy.

I loved working with children because there is nothing quite like being in a neighborhood grocery store reaching for an item on a shelf - only to hear, “Mrs. C!” - then to be hugged by your waist by a child who is incredibly happy to see you out of the normal context of their school life. In this situation they were usually with a parent who one could enjoy meeting.

I enjoy working with children because it proves to me that life can be different if we want it to be. Who I grew up to be by the age of eighteen was significantly impacted by the experience of child abuse in my life - because I was willing to learn a different way - I was a part of making life better for the next generation of young people.
