Why do you prefer a convex mirror as a rear view mirror in vehicles?

Here is the answer.
"Object in the mirror are closer than they appear ."
We all have see this written in the rear view mirror .
Convex mirrors are commonly used as rear-view (wing) mirrors in vehicles because they give an erect, virtual, full size diminished image of distant objects with a wider field of view. Thus, convex mirrors enable the driver to view much larger area than would be possible with a plane mirror.

convex mirror gave a wide range of vehicles so that driver can see properly and thus used as a rear view in vehicles
